Lots of Kent Agent. Working on the second book right now and just finished a short promo animation for the series.

Kent is on the move

The Kent book is out and filling up the stores this week. Great print quality and fun to see it IRL (thats: in real life). There's more Kent on the horizon but it'll have to wait for a short while.

So go buy Kent Agent. He's very bad ass.

Sweden VS Norway

My current project is all about these little dudes and dudettes. I'll shed some more light on it in a few weeks. But I can tell you right now it's all about competition and plenty of it.

Kent Agent cover

The first book is under production and is getting closer to finished everyday. Its still a couple of moths from release but most of the spreads are sketched out. 

Heres the cover we are using promote and sell in the book. Might be some very slight changes to it but this is pretty much it.

Oh and the title says "Kent Agent and the mystery of the super dirt" spoookey!

Poachers

It's nothing like a good board game to get your competitive vain pumping! Here's an illustration to an upcoming expansion to the very excellent board game Dominion by Rio Grande Games. If you haven't tried it out yet: go pick it up! The expansion is going to feature a dark ages theme and my illustration is showing some poaching action in a light forest. I hope it's a good card.

Kent in a hurry!

I did some concepts of Kent the other week. One of the illustrations showed Kent running. I just had to see it in motion. And since I'm trying to get more comfortable with 2D animation at the moment I had a go. Here's a pencil test of the run cycle from late last night. I love this stage so much. I have watched so much pencil test clips from the good old days. This is where the raw motion really shines. I think my next animation project will all pencil tests. No fuss, just the good stuff.

Frank's island in 3D

I posted some concept art for the island a while back. During this week I have worked on getting the island set up and textured in 3D. It feels good to see the transition. There's still some ways to go but this week has been a good stepping stone. 

Talking Pebbles

The lovely blog feber.se posted an article about Pebble Universe today. I did graphics and animation to this game. Check it out! The game has been mentioned in The Next Web as well. That's huge!

I also made a tiny animation as a trailer for the game. Unfortunately I didn't have too much time to put in to it. Nor have any saying regarding the sound edit. But it's an animation and you can see it here:

We also did a 3D teaser for the game. I wasn't very involved in this. Just some character stuff.

Kent is taking his first steps

I'm very exited to be in on the Kent Agent project. I see big potential and the team is great. Been doing some more sketching on the characters and the cover is coming along as well. Starting to storyboard the thing during this week. Here's how Kent and Mr Bister will look when on paper. Since I cant show much of the actual production I thought I'd show some post work.

Some changes

There was something about the script that wasn't expressing the feeling I was looking for. So I re-wrote big parts of the script which managed to change the tone of the whole thing and get it closer to the feel I wanted. So the colours had to change with it. These are some new concepts. 

Bits and pieces

It's great to finally see some of the ideas thats been brewing get visual. Looong ways to go still. And since it's all about the jurney, I should be thrilled!

Amazoner och foppatofflor

Camilla Halvarsson and my brother Josef Samuelsson are showing their movie "Amazoner och Foppatofflor" at Gothernburg film festival today. It's sold out, but don't panic, you can see it here as well:

Animation island Concept #1

Updates are spars here now. This is a good sign. Means I'm actually working on stuff. There are plenty of fun going on. One of these fun things are my final animation project for the animation education I'm currently on. This is a piece of concept art for that project.

Next up: Kent Agent!

Big news! I'm going to do two picture books this year starring none other than the very popular Swedish detective Kent Agent and his good friend Mr Bister. I love the series and I'm very glad to be part of this project. 

Writers for these books are Kalle Brunelius (Kent) and Nathanael Derwinger (Mr Bister) and it's given out by Pintxo. 

The first book will be released in August so we are still very early in development but I thought I'd share some character sketches.
